Vancouver, BC, March 10, 2015
BIL is the ad hoc, populist, egalitarian unconference setup as the analogue to the TED Conference. While TED is closed off to the public, attendance to BIL is open to the public and widely accessible. The annual flagship event will take place March 21st and 22nd in Vancouver, BC at the Imperial Vancouver event space located at 319 Main Street.
Fully participant driven, our gathering features a diverse mix of technologists, scientists, artists, hackers, and those with a passion for community awareness, social entrepreneurship, and innovation. The group doesn’t consider individuals to be attendees. They are participants who shape the outcome and experience.
The 2015 speaker lists features brilliant emerging and established forward thinkers that are at the top of their fields. This year’s topics focus on innovation, space exploration, robotics, startups, DIY, social change, interpersonal relationships, community, education, and art.
BIL 2015 has expected turnout of around 500. Participants can expect over 60 speakers on 2-3 simultaneously running stages, as well as a continuously running “BIL Bodies” experience that focuses on yoga, plyometrics and meditation. If you’re interested in speaking or adding to the mix, reach out and let us know.
Previous speakers have included: Luke Nosek a Founder of Paypal; George Whitesides the CEO of Virgin Galactic, Blake Mycoskie of TOMS Shoes, Brad Templeton of Electronic Frontier Foundation, Gayle Karen Young of Wikimedia.
BIL 2015 sponsorship opportunities are available. Previous sponsors have included SpaceX, Google, and Microsoft.
